WHO IS GEORGE?
The Dover George the Flagship property of the Port Dover Collection; a design centric and detail obsessed new hospitality company committed to bringing luxury accommodations, events and culinary experiences to one of the last truly undiscovered corners of Southwest Ontario. Located on the shores of Lake Erie in Port Dover, The Dover George is Norfolk County’s first and only luxury boutique hotel & culinary event centre.
WHO IS GEORGE LOOKING FOR?
There are currently 2 housekeeping positions available at the Dover George.
POSITION 1

"Senior" housekeeper:
Part-time (ideally with Tues. & Wed. availability)
The candidate for this senior position will be expected to complete the tasks listed below to George's exacting standards independently with minimal supervision.
The senior housekeeper will also be required to supervise the work of junior housekeeping staff.
POSITION 2
"Junior" housekeeper:
Full-time (ideally with weekend availability)
The candidate for this junior position may touch on all of the same task listed below but under the guidance of a senior team member.
However, the responsibilities of the junior position will be focused on laundry and maintaining our clean linen supply.
For both positions, George is looking for someone to...

Ensure the cleanliness of the property, and in particular the guest rooms and common spaces.

Always provide professional, welcoming, and attentive service to guests and in working with other staff.

Prepare guest suites for new arrivals after check-out, and ensure that luxury standards of fit & finish are met.

Manage and maintain George's supply of clean linens
-
Report to the owners any maintenance concerns, low/missing inventory, suspicious circumstances, or any issues that may arise.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The responsibilities would include, but may not be limited to the task below.
On any given day you could be...

Doing laundry (wash / dry / iron / fold)
-
Stripping, resetting & restocking rooms to get them ready for new guests

Making beds to George's exacting standards
-
Vacuuming, sweeping, and moping floors throughout the property

Cleaning and disinfecting bathrooms (yup... that means toilets too!)

Maintaining stock levels of linens, towels, amenities & cleaning supplies.

Doing MORE laundry...
-
Cleaning & dusting of furniture, millwork, fixtures, decorations, etc.

Washing dishes by hand or using our commercial dishwasher.

Minor yard work & exterior cleaning when needed (weeding, watering…etc)

Identifying, assessing, and addressing any areas that need extra attention.

Requirements

Previous Housekeeping experience is a valuable asset (especially for the senior position).

Food handling certification is an asset.

Must be able and comfortable with light to medium lifting, standing and walking for extended periods of time, using step ladders, and performing manual cleaning duties.

Available to work days, evenings, holidays and weekends.
-
Must reside within commuting distance of the Dover George and provide your own transportation.
$20-25/hr
based on experience, ability & attitude
